Lost: Missing Pieces - "Tropical Depression"

Well, with find815.com currently down, I suppose now is as good a time as any to check in on the latest Missing Piece of Lost (isn't it funny how these seem to pale in comparison to the new ARG now?)...

http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/missingpieces/index?pn=index

This week, it's more of Arzt, this time coming clean about his past. Who needs a flashback when we've got heart to hearts like this? Things we learned:

1. Arzt had no idea about "monsoon season". He was just making things up to try and expedite the launch of the raft. (Note: this is a very clever way for the writers to cover up the fact that this predicted monsoon never came.)

2. Arzt was a typical science nerd - chasing internet girls to Australia, lying about his looks, and spending his days on Lost Island catching bugs instead of putting the moves on Kate / Shannon / Sawyer.

3. Arzt felt sorry for himself. But as Michael quickly reminds him, everyone wishes they weren't on the Island, and everyone had freaky coincidences that led them there. Tough love, Arzty!

That's all for this week. I don't know about you, but I feel totally satisfied with the Arzt story at this point, and don't feel the need to see him in any future Missing Pieces. How about you?

(Fun Fact: you want to know something kinda sick? When I first went to find815.com tonight and saw the error page, I instantly assumed it was some part of the game and started scanning the page for information. This ARG stuff is getting out of hand!)

I've been checking the site every 10-15 min. The ARG is way more exciting than the term paper proposal I have to write for tomorrow.

1. Not only did I think the error page was "real", I even posted something stupid on the message board. Duh!

2. As for these Arzt stories...well...these *are* called "Missing Pieces"! =~>

Okay, this has nothing to do with the current post, but I keep wanting to ask you Brian -- whatever happened to your longer review of the LOST Season 4 trailer (Dec. 19)? You teased us, but then didn't follow through... naughty naughty! :)

just as the comment above me is OFF TOPIC, I have a OT question to ask.

HOW ARE THE NUPTUAL PLANNINGS GOING?????

katie kat - I apologize. As the ladies will tell you, I'm a big tease. I had the best intentions of doing a full analysis of that preview, and worked out a lot of it in my head, but then thought "isn't this the same thing I'm going to do for the preview of the first episode?"

Then I realized it was, got busy with other stuff, and never looked back. But I promise the ideas that the promo produced will be referenced in my "Beginning of the End" episode preview, now only a few weeks away!

heather's brain - you aren't really interested in such non-Losty things are you? Well, rest assured that I stayed true to form, creating a Blog for the big event, writing witty comments about it, and have been working ways to incorporate the world of movies and TV into the event.

The good news is that the big day is April 19, almost a month after Lost (sadly) will be wrapped up for the spring. It's almost as if the writers went on strike to prevent any disruption on the Lost Blog. Maybe they are reading the site more than we all thought...
