Lost - Moment 1

In case you didn't watch "Daybreak" last night (which actually was surprisingly decent, even though I vowed not to watch it after being inundated with commercials for it over the past month - we'll see if I actually stick with it or not), here was the "Lost Moment" they aired.

If you remember, these "mini clips" of upcoming episodes of Lost are airing during commercial breaks of Daybreak each week as a way to entice us to watch and appease the crazy Lost fans currently standing outside ABC with pitchforks and torches, protesting the "fall break".

Nothing really special here, but an extended look at the scene of Charlie tackling Desmond that we saw in the preview that aired after "I Do".

Enjoy!

(PS - yes, this is not the full analysis of "I Do" that I promised. Unfortunately, it looks like that's still a week or two away. I just ran out of time this weekend. No time! There's never any time! I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so... so... scared!)

This fall break is pissing me off for two reasons. The first is that I want something to be resolved... anything! I don't understand why they can't wrap anything up before a break. That is my minor complaint.

My major complaint is that there are a lot more people who are not like me and who have just lost (hur hur) interest in the show because of my previous reason. If they lose enough viewers as they've constantly done since season 1, we won't have a LOST to watch anymore and we will never see anything wrapped up. I really want this show to wrap stuff up before it gets canceled.

Nice "Saved by the Bell" reference. I'm impressed by your episode reviews and now by your TV references. Keep up the good work.

I did not watch the entire episode last night. I kept thinking, isn't it over yet? It seemed like the ending was everytime he started over and it was still another half hour to go.

I can not get into ANOTHER show. It isn't possible! Our lives are taken over by TV already...oh the teacher in me cries...my son liked it though and he is usually the one that drives me to watch this stuff. However, I was the ONE hooked on LOST and still am.

Chris...there isn't much to worry about in the way of not getting answers. Even if, by a remote chance it was cancelled, it has enough momentum to make it through the DVD stuff and into ARGs and so on. We (die hard fans that will put exects on SHISHKABOBS!)will get our LOST without TV if need be.

Not that I want that to happen!

by the way, I remember last year's cries for NO MORE REPEATS! and you got it, so no whining!!!

What exactly does Desmond say to Charlie after he tackles him? There's a "you don't want to know what happened to me," followed by something unintelligible, followed by another "you don't want to know what happened to me" while sobbing. Did anyone catch what the something unintelligible was?

Thank you Brian, we'll wait for you. I really enjoy your comments.

Hot Sundae could have been something. Stay away from the Caffine pills.

Johnson, what I believe Desmond said wa:

"you don't want to know what happened to me, when I turned that key, you don't want to know what happened to me"

anyone hear something different?

i jumped on to "heroes"

good show. It is also a newborn series. somehow they always feel a lot more real and honest; fresh and un-poisoned by network exploitation of an over hyped show.

seriously though the whole lost thing is pissing me off. Showing us bogus previews and putting in these clips for the next few months. Making us wait till feb so they can do another mega-premier-hype.

id almost rather re-runs.
and to be honest the whole thing is just losing its flare.

heroes is developing nicely and full of curious unforced mystery and excitement, things i feel lost has been lacking lately

just my frustrated opinion i guess...

I couldn't agree more about "Heroes". I think heroes is everything LOST isn't. "Heroes" while maintaining an overall mystery, does have several resolutions in each episode. We are finding out something new every week. Lost just poses more and more and more questions that it becomes frustrating. Season 2 of LOST was some of the best television I have ever seen, but I think that season 3 is garbage so far, and I'll tell you why. It's just not going anywhere. Tell us what the hell "the others" are doing!

Brian - you are my hero. I thought I was the only Saved By the Bell fan left. I wonder how many of your readers completely missed your qoute from that awesome episode. "Here's a message that I'm sendin' to you..." You know the rest.

As for LOST, I gotta tell you guys that I WILL WAIT (impatiently) for new episodes and I will be thankful that there are no more reruns!!!!!!! In the mean time I hope Brian can keep us entertained.

I don't know what movie you're referring to, but this took less than a minute to find...

For anyone interested in the SBTB reference where the Stanford-bound showgirl is strung out on caffeine pills:

I have something here I feel needs adding...

Smokey ACTIVELY wanted the button pushed, and now I'm sure of it.

Three epsiodes have convinced me. First, there's Smokey as Yemi, all the way back in season 2, telling him he has to help Locke find his way again (after Locke became disillusioned with the button).

Next we come back up to date with Locke and Eko in season 3 at the pearl hatch.

"I saw a brilliant light" (or something, exact quote I'm not sure) and he says this with a look of rapture on his face.

Finally, Locke's flashback with the pot-growers and the cop kid: "You'd be susceptible to coercion."

AHA! So smokey appears to Locke as some holy light, and convinces Locke of a higher purpose on the Island (probably knowing he'd eventually find the hatch - and assuming smokey is responisble for dream visions too -remember, we're trying to ground this show in science as much as possible, as opposed to mysticism - maybe he even led him to it.) Eventually, Locke becomes disheartened with his button-pushing, and Smokey appears as Yemi to try and convince Eko to step in (either to convince John to carry on, or to take his place).

Well, those are my inane ramblings - any thoughts?

I can only agree with some other writers here on Heroes! Not only, that it has great acting and wonderful mysteries, that they manage to keep up a big background story beneath the individual stories, it has deeply human issues also! And the poor pilot from LOST is in it, too...;-) Not so poor this time, at least he´s alive. And who would have thought that the gay Steven Carrington from Dynasty would give such a convincing badass...

But you must not forget: they have just started the show - let´s wait and see if they manage to go as far as LOST is at the moment (what I really hope for), and if it is still that good then! I guess we would love to see that!

wouldn't it just be sad if "Patchy" was controlling Smokey from behind a curtain???

(Wizard of Oz fans cry out... YES!)

did Hurley tell the rest of the survivors what Micheal did..

"did Hurley tell the rest of the survivors what Micheal did.."

Now THAT'S a good question... was this one of those things that happens offscreen, and we're just meant to assume it happens (viva la Return of Sayid), or is it a case of no-one thought to mention it with everything else that's going on?

Or is it just sloppy writing? I certainly hope it's option 1 or 2...
