The Countdown Begins!

It's official! We have a date... and time!

ABC ANNOUNCES THE PREMIERE OF THE SIXTH AND FINAL SEASON OF “LOST,” WITH A SPECIAL ALL-NIGHT EVENT ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2

ABC announces the premiere of the sixth and final season of “Lost,” with a special all-night event on Tuesday, February 2. A recap special will kick off the night from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET, followed by the much anticipated two-hour premiere from 9:00-11:00 p.m.

The series will then air in its regular time period – Tuesday nights from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET – beginning the following week, on February 9.

I must say, the prospect of Lost on Tuesday kinda excites me. For one, there's basically nothing on Tuesdays - for another, it leaves plenty of time for analyzing and blogging before the weekend arrives and eats up all my time. The countdown is officially on!

What say you?

Wow! I was just thinking for the first time in a month - "I wonder about LOST?" And here it is! Thanks, Brian!

Rebecca, personally, I'm tempering my expectations. I've felt pretty let-down about their answers in the past. However, it should be a lot of fun, regardless!

Anyone have any ideas why it appears that Locke is the only one with his back towards us?

I was wondering what was going to happen with Modern Family, which is on ABC Wednesdays at 9. Now I have something to watch on Tuesdays. Looking forward to it!

Hey Brian, I was just wondering what your thoughts were on actor Henry Ian Cusick being sued for sexual harassment? I can't believe that it is true, but Desmond is my favorite character and if the rumor is true, it would completely ruin my admiration for him. Has anyone heard anything conclusive?
Thanks!

Ab Aeterno is not the finale'.

My bad.

It is a pretty darn title for this season, however.

I just published all the "Lost" episode titles and their "cenric" character but deleted it. I figured some my view them as spoilers.

If you want them send an email and I will send them privately. I am sure they are common knowledge by now but didn't want to offend anyone with information they perhaps don't want to see.

Looking at this poster, there are 27 characters in the show that we know quite a bit! Great job on the writers for developing this many characters without getting it us confused. There are two more characters that hopefully we will find out about more this season. I can think of at least 2 more characters that aren't in the poster and aren't demigods too!

I sayeth: Whoa! Can't wait!

(other) Jon: good thinking, I for one am a bit hesitant about reading this LOST blog before and during the last season for the obvious spoiler risk in some comment. One the other hand, reading here has become an ingrained part of the Lost experience.

jon - I can only assure you that I will not post or allow any "spoilers" this season, just like I haven't allowed any from prior seasons. Unless you account for the fact that I might "guess" what's going to happen correctly, you should be safe in reading the Blog this upcoming season :)

Speaking of ABC Tuesdays, how have you felt about the new Scrubs?

dj (David Jones) said...

So, just out of curiosity, what does everyone think of the title of the first episode? (For those that haven't seen it, it's titled "LAX")

This could get crazy. I still have a theory out there that the 'incident' created an alternate reality of the plane never crashing. We'll see!

Unrelated topic, but I wanted to get your opinion on the butchering of Scrubs. A show that ended just about very well, it's not back as "med School" which makes no sense at all, among other things.
It should not have been brought to life. On par with Lost season 7 "the zombie season" Then again, with all the dead people walking in season 6, maybe that's a reality too.

Steve said...

excuse my grammar above, 'scrubs' ended 'very well' and is 'now back'K as a horrid zombie of it's former self.

DJ, I think it's an alternate timeline/reality is the only possibility.. and having two timelines could be a very very bad thing.

It's disappointing as I'm a fan of 'whatever happened happened', but I have to give Carlton and Damon some faith.

Kind of reminds me of my Colts throwing away a perfect season... that's how the alternate timeline makes me feel, but it the end, it could still be a big win.

Oh, and Brian, hope your Bengals beat the Jets this week.

1. Good to be back!!

2. Travis R. said: "Anyone have any ideas why it appears that Locke is the only one with his back towards us?" Hell yes: the real Locke is dead. Just like Paul McCartney on the back of Sgt. Pepper!

3. I am not fond of having Lost on Tuesdays, but it's better than having it on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, or not at all. Wednesdays were perfect as far as I was concerned.

4. Brian, you're a Bengals fan? GO BRIAN LEONARD!!

Great episodes and great analysis...

I was thinking something similar to third scenario you mention where off-island is the Past, however at the moment the Lost website is calling them "flash-sideways'" which is not a very good sign. I hope it isn't so...

I'm very interested in what has happened with Sayid. It is looking as though it could be Jacob resurrected, but I hope not as I think he should resurrect in the same way as smokey-locke-maninblack. I am kind of hoping that man-in-black.

With Desmond on the plane it looks as though Penny may not have been born if the island sank... but it is crazy hard to know at this stage because the season premiere seems to have opened more questions than it has answered.

Every possible answer with the plane sequences that I come up with in my mind is kind of lame, however I trust the writers and can't wait until next episode.
