Rabbits multiply notoriously rapidly and I don't believe that they live for 30+ years. The fact that the white rabbit is used as a consistent thread with Ben, from childhood follows the whole, Alice in Wonderland/thru the looking glass theme. In that way the white rabbit is significant. As a symbol. I seriously doubt it is the same rabbit; and it really doesn't matter. In "White Rabbit", Charlie runs over to Jack & tells him someone is in the ocean. When Jack dives in, Charlie is on the beach saying "I don't swim, I don't swim!" I'm sure it's just an overlooked detail, but I KNEW I remembered Charlie saying he couldn't swim, & in "Greatest Hits", he clearly can swim. I suppose it's possible he's learned how to swim since being on the island.
